The September 2011 data on NHS referral to treatment waiting times (RTT) was published by the Department today. This provides information provided by primary care trusts, strategic health authorities and NHS trusts in England.
The key points are:
- Consultant-led RTT waiting times for patients treated was 311,601 for admitted patients and 909,580 for non-admitted patients.
- Nationally 90.7% of admitted patients and 97.2% of non-admitted patients completed their RTT within 18 weeks.
- The average time patients waited to complete an RTT pathway was 8.8 weeks for admitted patients and 4.5 weeks for non-admitted patients.
